Flora and fauna

Due to diverse topography, the flora ranges from sub alpine forests in the north through the forests in the central region to tropical rain forest in the south and mangroves in the delta area. It has recorded a variety of 300 mammal species, 300 reptiles, 1000 bird species, butterflies, insects, plants and trees.

Famous pagodas in Myanmar are Shwe Dagon and Sule in Yangon, Mahamuni in Mandalay. Began is the main tourist attraction in Myanmar and one of the richest archaeological sites in Asia. There are 2000 well-preserved pagodas and temples.

Hill Stations

Some hill stations that attract tourists are:

1. Taunggyi over 1430 meters
2. Kalaw over 1400 meters
3. Pyin Oo Lwin over 1000 meters above sea level respectively.
4. Kacarborazi The highest snow-capped mountain in Asia.
5. Ayeyarwady and Chindwin River Resort

They are popular hill stations delightfully cool and pleasant the whole year round.
